Consultant Profile: Pascale Stendell

Pascale has developed specialist competencies in the Data Management area since joining Oracle in 1996 as a Data Modeller and Oracle Designer (CASE) education consultant. She also trained on Java and participated in early reviews of Oracle 8i at the Oracle Headquarters in San Francisco given her University research focus on Object Orientation. Since 1998 she has primarily consulted in the areas of Data Governance and Data Architecture Management, Data Development with a focus on Data Modelling, Reference & Master Data Management, Data Warehousing and Enterprise reporting, and Data Quality Management. She shared some lessons learnt at the ACS Conference 2010 in the Data stream on behalf of DAMA-Canberra. She continues to share her experience and seeks to learn from her peers for the improvement of the industry.

Presentations made to the industry include:

Pascale also provides pro-bono consulting to community and not-for-profit local organisations typically helping in the areas of data management and information sharing over the web. Such projects come with other sets of challenges with a greater emphasis on user buy-in. Such experience complements her other professional assignments as successful implementations are those supported by people who believe in the solution and wish to be involved. The human factor proves to be the greater risk and requires a greater focus than the underpinning technology.

This included one year at the Research Department of the School of Computing Science at the University of Technology, Sydney. Research involved Object Orientation, Eiffel, and compilers. Further education include a Graduate Diploma of Education from UTS, Sydney, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA).
